The Rework operator is responsible for performing rework and repair tasks on electronic circuit boards. The primary duties of a PCBA rework operator may include:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting: Identifying issues with the electronic circuit boards and determining the best course of action to resolve the problem.
  • Rework and repair: Replacing or repairing components on electronic circuit boards that are not functioning properly or have failed quality control inspections.
  • Soldering and desoldering: Using a variety of tools and techniques to remove and replace components on electronic circuit boards, including soldering irons, hot air guns, and vacuum extractors.
  • Setup and operate Rework station for repairing the circuit boards.
  • Testing and inspection: Conducting thorough testing and quality control inspections to ensure that repaired or reworked electronic circuit boards meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and rework performed on electronic circuit boards, including details of the components replaced and the techniques used.
  • Equipment maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in rework and repair tasks, including cleaning, calibration, and replacement of parts.
  • Quality control: Following established quality control procedures to ensure that all repaired and reworked electronic circuit boards meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Safety compliance: Adhering to safety regulations and guidelines while performing rework and repair tasks, including wearing appropriate protective gear and ensuring that tools and equipment are used safely and correctly.
  • Assist in training of new hires in equipment set­up, maintenance and operation. Actively participates in process and quality improvement activities
  • Do other assigned tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Grade 12 level Education, experience in repair and rework of circuit boards (preferred)
  • Good understanding of electronic circuit board design and functionality as well as experience in soldering and desoldering components.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of SMT and thru-hole parts
  • Certified IPC specialist – knowledge of IPC 7711/IPC 7721
  • 2 Years experience in Electronic assembly field

The Mechanical Assembly Operator assembles mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required customer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
  • Utilize hand held tools such as a hand-held screw and drill gun
  • Maintain inventory of product on work stations
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Test and inspect the completed unit as outlined in procedures
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

The Wire Harness Assembler is responsible to attach ends of wires to components, using soldering iron, also ties wires at designated points to form harness manually and other related assembly with the assistance of tools.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Routes and ties wires to form wire harness used in electrical and electronic equipment or systems: Reads instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
  • Selects wires of specified color, marking, or length, and loops wires between guide pegs on harness board, following color-coded lines or sequential numbers on board or diagram.
  • Wraps and ties wires together at designated points to form harness, manually or using tie-wrap gun.
  • May apply sealing liquid to secure knots in ties, using brush.
  • May attach ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip, using soldering iron or crimping device.
  • May insert cable in plastic tubing or inject plastic sealant around terminals to protect cable from dust and moisture.
  • May test wiring continuity, using continuity tester.
  • May mark identifying data on completed harness.

The SMT Line Operator setup and operate SMT equipment to maintain optimum output and ensure that products flow smoothly through the SMT line following appropriate ECI procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily Operation of SMT equipment including setup, operation and maintenance
  • Setup and operate SMT equipment (especially, pick and place equipment) to maintain optimum output and ensure that new products flow smoothly through the SMT equipment following appropriate ECI procedures
  • Prepare and maintain feeders
  • Hand place SMT parts prior to reflow- when required
  • Responsible for maintaining production output per the production schedule
  • Collect, compile, analyze, develop and report data and information regarding SMT operations/issues
  • Perform inspection, corrective and preventive actions and other quality assurance related assignments to ensure that the SMT line is producing a high-quality product
  • Assist in training of new hires in equipment set­up, maintenance and operation.
  • Actively participates in process and quality improvement activities
  • Do other assigned tasks as required
