The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and optimizing manufacturing processes and procedures related to electronic assembly.  This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure efficient production, quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.  Also responsible for establishing the process flow for new products.


  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assembly, including soldering, PCB assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole technology (THT), and testing procedures.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to evaluate proposed manufacturing processes and equipment for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement process controls and quality assurance measures to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IPC standards).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and cycle time optimization, and lead cross-functional teams to implement changes.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to electronic assembly processes, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to the production team, including training on new processes, equipment, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain documentation of manufacturing processes, including work instructions, process specifications, flow charts and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay current with advancements in electronic assembly technologies, materials, and equipment, and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate.
  • Order or develop special tooling, jigs, wave pallets, and stencils; qualify new tools, equipment and chemicals
  • Develop programs for machines (AOI, SMT pick & place, Selective soldering)
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the electronics assembly shop.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering, preferably in electronic assembly or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic assembly processes, including soldering techniques, PCB assembly methods, SMT, THT, and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in process optimization techniques, statistical analysis, and quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for process simulation and design analysis is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing electronic assembly processes (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001).
